The Best Vacation Spot in North America

Let me give some validation for my travel opinion. I have been to 7 countries and 38 states in the U.S. I know this does not make me an expert, but I have been around a bit. This is also a personal view and not based of any type of raw data. I personally believe the best vacation spot in North America is Quebec City, Canada. I liked the place so much, I kept taking people back with me. If I currently, had the time and money, I would go again.

My first experience of Quebec City was on a Military exercise. We were sent to a base just outside of the city. It was February and we were there for cold weather training. The first two weeks we were there it never rose above -20 degrees. Luckily for us it was during the Ice Festival. So, on the weekends and at night we had the chance to experience the city. My friend and I happened to meet a heavy metal band from Quebec City. We spent a lot of time partying with them. After this trip, I ended up taking friends, girlfriends, parents and my wife with me. No, not all at the same time, lol. It was over a few years. Some of my best memories comes from there.

Quebec City has also been voted by a few travel magazines for 1st place also. It has been stated that if you want to go to Paris and can't afford it, go to Quebec instead. The main language is french. However, most people speak English. especially, if it's at a hotel, restaurant, or shop. Some things you have to check out when you go are:

Galeries de la Capitale - This is a large mall. I believe it's three stores but it might be two. It's very large through. It has an gaming center across from the food court with an Ice skating rink in between. It even has an roller coaster that goes through the walls and over the food court and ice skating rink. It's awesome.

When I was not staying with friends, I would always stay at the Quality Suites right outside the Galeries de la Capitale. The people were always nice and I liked the fact that the bedroom was a separate room.

The bars and clubs are cool. For the life of me, I can't remember any of their names. Be sure you try the Molson XXX if you are a drinker. One of my favorite beers in the world.

The street cafes are cool along with the shopping in the downtown area. There is always something go on. There is usually a Jazz Festival every summer and one year while we were there the World Fair was in town.
