Free Software every home user should have.

Free Software every home user should have.

Avira Antivirus – First, I’m not a big fan of paying for antivirus. I feel there are too many good free services available. Many people look to McAfee or Norton as industry leaders, but I personally believe they cause problems with the overall operation of my system. I have tried some other free service. However, Avira has outperformed all other test runs. I have been running Avira since 1997 and I’m on the net more than the average user. I have never had a problem with their service. To run an antivirus for 15 years and not have any problems has me sold.

Advanced System Care – This has become a very popular tool recently. It’s very easy to use and has some good functions to it. The turbo booster which comes with it is a must have. I have a particular computer that does not have the minimum specs to play certain games. However, with the turbo booster on, I have no issues. In addition, it has general spyware and privacy cleaners. There is also a registry cleaner packed in. Many experts will state these registry cleaners are a bad idea. Yet, I’ve run this for the last 3 years and I haven’t had any trouble.

Malwarebytes – I really don’t need to go into this one too much. Ask any of your computer knowledge friends and they already know about this product. If you have a virus, running Malwarebytes in safe mode is very effective. It does take about an hour to run the program, but it’s worth the wait.
