How do get help with VA benefits
When I left the military, I did myself a great disservice. I had hurt my back while I was in the service. It was extremely painful. I ended up with a crushed disk, a herniated disc, and a ruptured disk. Somewhere in this mess it was pinches nerves. I could feel great pain in down my right leg and left testical. All this was confirmed during my 3rd tour. I should have insured I left with a medical discharge. The VA had decided before I left that I would receive a 10% discount. To this day, I have to walk a tightrope. If I gain too much weight, the pressure causes extreme pain. If I exercise to keep my weight down, eventually, I hurt my back again to a server degree.
After seeing so many veterans receiving large percentages for minor injuries, I wanted to ask for more. However, I did not know what to do. When I visited my local VA outpatient clinic for my yearly physical, they suggested I speak to the representatives for the Texas Veterans Commission. They were stationed there at the clinic. The helped my fill out all the paperwork and sent it off. They even helped me with instructions on what to do after the paperwork went out. I highly recommend asking for their help.
Go in person. Dealing with the government by phone or Internet is silly.
